ICPEM ANNUAL CONFERENCE 2013 - "Resilience: Learning from the past to deal with threats in the future."

The Annual Conference took place at the Kettering Conference Centre on Thursday 16th May 2013

ALERT and Communique

We are sure that many of our Fellows and Members have been involved in the planning or operation of the many major events that have taken place in the UK over the past summer. This may well have been to a greater or lesser extent but the Institute would really appreciate sharing in your experiences, anecdotes and advice.

We welcome submissions and news for publication in the next edition of our in-house journal ALERT or our news Communiqué.

ICPEM 2012-2016 Strategic Plan

All members are encouraged to read the Institute's Strategic Plan 2012-2016.

Strategic planning is the institute's process of defining its strategy, or direction, and making decisions on allocating its resources to pursue this strategy.

In order to determine where we are going, the institute needs to know exactly where it stands, then determine where it wants to go and how it will get there. The resulting document is The Strategic Plan.

If you would like to contribute towards the achievement of any of the Strategic Objectives identified in Annex A and become part of the team appointed to achieve a particular objective, please either contact the Team Leader directly, or Tony Moore at tony.moore@icpem.net who will put you in touch with the Team Leader.

ICPEM Annual Award of Excellence

The ICPEM annual Award of Excellence was established in order to recognise significant contributions in the field of emergency management.

At the Institutes Conference on 16th May the Annual Award of Excellence was awarded to
Crew Manager Oliver Stallworthy of the London Fire Brigade.

Oliver was nominated by ICPEM members Peter Davis and Rob Davis
